![]() At the time of writing this review, you can pick up the Corsair Harpoon gaming mouse on Amazon for ~$30 USD. The Harpoon can be controlled and configured via Corsair’s universal software, iCUE which we’ll be going into more later.īefore diving into the review, let’s take a look at the technical details related to the mouse. The Corsair Harpoon is on the budget side of the spectrum which makes it a good option for light gaming and general use.Īt a glance, the Corsair Harpoon features a lightweight design (85g), a 6000-dpi sensor and six programmable buttons. How we interface, whether it’s gaming, web surfing or work related, factors in to the type of product we’ll end up buying. Especially considering the mouse is one of the primary ways we interface with our PCs. There’s plenty of options out there when it comes to gaming mice, and a lot of factors to consider when going in for the purchase. Wired is perfectly usable, but after using wireless it just feels like a downgrade. In this review we’ll be taking a look at the Corsair Harpoon gaming mouse. Outside of cable drag and flipping around lol. I’ve been using wireless for a couple years now almost exclusively and I don’t notice any performance difference between wired and wireless mice in testing. There can be slight increase in latency, it top mice right now it’s literally something like 2 or 4 milliseconds difference, not enough to make a practical difference in most cases. If it’s set up properly wireless performance is as good as wired in consistency and accuracy. Never tried Corsair mice too much after the disappointing m65, not sure about their performance. I’d try to change the port your using and see if it helps. ![]() Some are flawless while others are choppy like you describe. I have similar issues if I plug the dongle into certain hubs on my pc. Or, could be the actual usb hub/port that it’s plugged into. But otherwise i can't say that those products 'perform poorly', they're certainly not perfect, but are there really any perfect products ? I also have Corsair HS50 headset, it was totally fine, not audiophile quality or smth, and the mic is a mixed bag but until the adjustment mechanism failed just recently after 3 years or so (of me constantly tripping on it and launching it across the room, i'm surprised that the cable didn't fail first), it served me well. A Corsair AIO i owned was also decent, Arctic FII is better, and i had to keep iCUE in the background to be able to disable AIO (can't PC parts manufacturers just ultimately agree to put a tiny ass switch to disable RGB on the product itself instead?). But it was 50$ (Harpoon was like 20$ IIRC) so i can't complain. Just recently switched to Razer Basilisk V3 and well, i can't say that i feel any palpable difference, maybe only that stock glides are better. ![]() But i've been using Harpoon in wired mode for like 3 years with zero issues as far as other things considered. All the better Corsair PSUs are made by CWT and Great Wall, one series by Flextronics.Ībout Corsair mice, at least wireless side of things, can confirm, it's garbage.
